Precautions for use
When using these headphones, take care to avoid pinching hair or fingers between movable parts. Be specially careful if children are allowed to use the headphones.
Subjecting the device to a strong force or impact may impair the appearance or performance of the device, resulting in malfunction or damage.
When headphones are dirty, wipe with a dry, soft cloth. Take care not to blow into the speaker unit.
Sound quality might deteriorate or sound maybe interrupted if the plug is dirty. Keep the plug clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth occasionally.
Leaving the charging terminal parts in a dirt state may cause a contact failure, malfunction, or fire. Furthermore, allowing metal to contact the terminal parts may cause a malfunction or fire. Wipe them occasionally with a soft cloth to keep them clean.
If any itching or skin discomfort occurs during use, cease use immediately.
This product is not edible. Place out of reach of small children to prevent accidental ingestion of small parts.
If any of the following symptoms appear, immediately cease use of the headphones, turn power to OFF, and consult your dealer:

Auto power off function
This product includes an auto power off function.
If 5 minutes continue without connecting to a device while the product is powered on, the power turns off automatically.
In addition, the auto power off function can be set for when there is no input (music playback, calls, etc.) for a certain period of time while connected to a device.
Set it using the dedicated nwm Connect app.
(This function is turned off in the factory default state.)
This product is an open-ear type. Fit it so that the speaker part comes over the ear canal.
Before fitting it, check for the L and R (left and right) sides of the product.
Extend the sliders fully.
Fit it so that the ears are inside the ear pads.
Adjust the sliders so that the headband fits onto your head.
Adjust the left and right units to match the angle of your ears.

Before using the product for the first time, charge it using the included USB cable.
With the power turned off, connect the included USB cable to the USB connector of the product, and the other end of the cable to the USB port of a PC or similar device.
The status indicator on the product will slowly blink in green.
When charging is completed, disconnect the USB cable.
When the light remains on, charging is complete.
Charging takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete.
When the remaining battery power becomes low, the status indicator lights up in orange, and a notification tone is emitted to notify you.
The charging time may vary depending on the temperature and usage frequency.

When inserting a USB cable into a USB port, ensure that it is inserted straight (horizontally), and all the way in.
Charge this product in a location that is away from direct sunlight and is well ventilated (5°C/41°F to 40°C/104°F).
When charging by connecting to a PC, charging may not be possible while in power saving mode or when the power is off.
When connecting this product to the PC, connect the included USB cable to the USB connector of the PC directly. Charging may not be possible if the USB cable is connected via a USB hub, etc.
Do not use the USB cable while it is bent or bundled. Doing so may cause a fire or electric shock.
Pay attention to the following points when storing for a long period of time. Failure to do so may result in rapid battery degradation, or reduced available operation time.
Do not store in locations with high humidity or temperatures (such as within a car or where subject to direct sunlight).
Do not store when either fully charged or fully discharged.
When you use the product for the first time, it will automatically enter pairing mode when the power is turned on.
From the second time, press and hold the multifunction button for approximately 5 seconds while the power is off to switch to pairing mode.
In pairing mode, the status indicator will blink red and blue alternately.
If the product is left in pairing mode for 5 minutes, it will enter the connection standby status.
To switch to pairing mode again, press and hold the multifunction button for approximately 5 seconds.
You will hear a shutdown tone once after pressing and holding the multifunction button for approximately 2 seconds, but just continue pressing until the state switches from power-on to pairing mode.
If the product is left in the connection standby status for approximately 5 minutes, the power will turn off automatically.
Turn on the power of the Bluetooth-compatible device to be connected, open the Bluetooth setting screen, and search for the product.
When [nwm MBH001] is displayed on the screen of the device to be connected, select it.
Pairing is complete when a notification tone is emitted from the product.
If [nwm MBH001] is not displayed on the screen of the device to be connected, repeat this procedure from step 1.

Some Bluetooth devices may increase their volume when paired with this product. After pairing is complete, check the volume before use.
This product can register its pairing information with up to eight Bluetooth devices. Pairing with a ninth device will delete previously registered device pairing information. In order to reconnect a device that has had its pairing information deleted, perform pairing again.
Pairing using the nwm Connect app
Pairing can be performed using the dedicated nwm Connect app. For details, see “nwm Connect App.”

If the product does not switch to pairing mode despite pressing and holding the multifunction button, there may not be a device that can be connected in the surroundings.
In this case, first try turning the power of the product off and then press and hold the multifunction button for approximately 5 seconds until the state switches from power-on to pairing mode. The status indicator will blink red and blue alternately and the product will enter pairing mode.
When the status indicator blinks alternately, release the multifunction button.

Switching between paired devices
Perform the disconnection operation on the Bluetooth setting screen of the Bluetooth-compatible device while connected to the product.
When the connection is lost, a notification tone will sound.
In the Bluetooth settings screen of the new device to be connected, select [nwm MBH001].
When the connection is complete, a notification tone will sound.
Connecting to two devices simultaneously (multipoint connection)
This product supports multipoint connection to two Bluetooth-compatible devices simultaneously.*
While listening to music on one device, incoming phone calls on a second device can be picked up as-is.
Not all combinations of Bluetooth-compatible devices are guaranteed to work.
How to set up a multipoint connection
Pair the product with the first Bluetooth-compatible device.
Pair the product with the second Bluetooth-compatible device.
Press and hold the multifunction button on the product for approximately 5 seconds.
You will hear a shutdown tone once after pressing and holding the multifunction button for approximately 2 seconds, but just continue pressing until the state switches from power-on to pairing mode.
When you hear the sound, release the multifunction button.
The status indicator will blink red and blue alternately and the product will enter pairing mode.
When entering pairing mode, a notification tone sounds.
Next, perform pairing as described in step 2 onward in “How to pair.”
If the product does not switch to pairing mode despite pressing and holding the multifunction button, there may not be a device that can be connected in the surroundings.

With a multipoint connection, up to two Bluetooth-compatible devices can be connected simultaneously. If pairing is performed with a third Bluetooth-compatible device while two devices are already connected, one of the two currently connected devices will be automatically disconnected. When selecting the device to be connected, perform the operation from the device side.
Connecting to Auracast™
This product supports Auracast streaming playback.
What is Auracast broadcast audio:
Auracast technology can transmit (distribute) audio signals from a transmitter (such as a tour system in an art museum, a television, or a public broadcast system at a conference center) to receivers (headphones, hearing aids, etc.) within a certain radius of the transmitter without limitations.
In this way, streaming playback can be received by multiple devices, such as your earphones and your friends’ earphones, at the same time.
After turning on Auracast streaming mode on the product, the radio wave with the strongest audio signal is received for streaming playback.
During use, check that you are within the range of the Auracast transmitter.
Press the multifunction button on the product three times.
The startup tone upon switching to Auracast streaming mode is heard, and the status indicator slowly blinks twice in blue.
The radio wave with the strongest audio signal in the surroundings is received.
If there is no Auracast radio wave transmission (distribution) in the surroundings, no signal will be received.
After switching to Auracast streaming mode, if no audio signal that can be received is found, the product switches to the normal Bluetooth connection standby status after approximately 30 seconds.
To switch to Auracast streaming mode again, press the multifunction button three times.
To switch to normal Bluetooth pairing mode, press and hold the multifunction button for approximately 5 seconds.
If the product is left in the connection standby status for approximately 5 minutes, the power will turn off automatically.
Connecting the USB cable
When the power is turned on using the included USB cable, the product can be used as wired headphones.
Connect the included USB cable to the USB connector of the product, and the other end of the cable to the USB port of the device to be connected.
If a Bluetooth-compatible device is connected while the USB cable is connected, there may be an interruption from the Bluetooth-compatible device.

Do not use the USB cable while it is bent or bundled. Doing so may cause a fire or electric shock.
When inserting the USB cable into the USB connector/port, insert it straight (horizontally) and fully. If it is not inserted completely, it may cause problems such as sound not being output or the microphone not working properly.

Use the Google app, included with Android™ smartphones and devices, for voice operations.
Enable the Google app.
On Android™ OS smartphones, click “Settings,” then “Apps,” then select the gear icon displayed on the upper right corner of the screen. Select “Default apps,” “Assist & voice input,” and set the “Assist app” to Google.

Before starting a call, connect the product and check the operation, then start the voice call.
Check the input/output settings on the connected device.
Increase the microphone input volume on the connected device.
Check that the microphone holes of the product (at two locations) are not blocked.
Check that the product is being worn correctly. If the L and R (left and right) sides are put on in the opposite way around, the microphone pickup direction will be changed, and the other party may not be able to hear your voice.

How to reset
If the product does not turn on or off, if the Bluetooth connection cannot be made or canceled, or if there is any other problem with the product’s operation, reset the product.
With the status indicator blinking (or lit) in green, press both the (+) button and the (-) button on the product at the same time and hold for approximately 10 seconds.
When the initialization completes, the status indicator blinks in pink four times and then automatically restarts.
After the startup tone is emitted and the status indicator slowly blinks twice in light blue, the indicator will blink (or light up) in green during charging.
The settings of the product are restored to the factory default settings, and all pairing information is deleted.
When performing pairing again, delete the pairing information of the product “nwm MBH001” (factory default product name) from the device to be connected, then perform the pairing again.
If operation does not improve even though the product has been initialized, do not attempt to open the product to check its interior, but consult with the store where you purchased it.

When connecting, turn the volume on the connected device all the way down. Take care as the sound indicating that connection is complete may be loud.
Do not subject the product to strong impacts.
Do not place the product where it will be exposed to direct sunlight, close to heating equipment, in a place with high temperature and high humidity, or in a dusty place.
The ear pads cannot be detached. If you try to remove them by force, they could be damaged. If they are dirty, wipe off the dirt with a dry, soft cloth.
In dry locations, ears may experience tingling and irritation due to static electricity that builds up in the body.
If you feel any abnormality in parts touching your body, stop usage, and consult your doctor.
If the product is used for a long period of time, the color may change due to ultraviolet light (in particular, when exposed to direct sunlight) or friction.
If an electronic device or a transmitter (such as a mobile phone) is close to the product, the product may pick up noise. In such cases, move the product away from these devices before use.
If the product is used near a television or radio antenna, the product may pick up television or radio noise. In such cases, move the product away from these devices before use.
Do not place objects that are easily affected by magnetism (such as cash cards) near the product. The object may be affected by magnetism and become unusable.
Do not place the product directly onto delicate material such as marble or unfinished wood.
When using the included cable, ensure that the cable is inserted and removed by holding its connector. Pulling the cable itself can result in damage to the cable or accidents.
Do not charge the product if there is damage, such as if the USB cable terminal is bent or if the connection is loose when the cable is inserted. Doing so may cause heating, generation of smoke, fire, or other malfunctions, or electric shock.
Ensure that plugs are fully inserted.
Do not connect the USB connectors or cable if they have any water or foreign materials on them. Doing so may result in damage to the USB connector or USB cable such as corrosion, overheating, smoking, or fire, or in electric shock.
Ensure that the battery is recharged at least once every six months in order to preserve the built-in rechargeable battery. If the battery is left uncharged for too long, the capacity of the rechargeable battery may decrease or it may no longer be able to be recharged.
Charge this product in a location that is away from direct sunlight and is well ventilated (5°C/41°F to 40°C/104°F). Otherwise, battery degradation may occur, shortening the time of continuous use or making it impossible to carry out charging.
Operate the buttons with a finger. Operating them with a ballpoint pen, pencil, or other implement with a sharp point may result in not only incorrect operation but may even damage the buttons or cause them to break.
This product can only be used in countries where it complies with or has been certified under the radio act of that country. Only use the product in the country where you bought it.
Bluetooth
Bluetooth wireless technology can communicate up to a distance of 10 m line of sight, however the effective communication range may differ depending on obstacles (such as human bodies, metal objects, or walls) or radio wave interference.
Radio waves generated by Bluetooth devices may affect the operation of devices such as electronic medical equipment. In some cases, this may result in accidents, therefore when in the following locations turn off the power to Bluetooth devices.
Within hospitals or clinics
Near priority seating on trains
In locations such as gas stations that have flammable gases
Near automatic doors or fire alarms
Due to the characteristics of wireless technology, in some cases, audio or music playback on the product side may be delayed compared with playback on the transmission side. Therefore, when watching a video or playing a game, there may be a lag between the sound and images.
The product supports security features that comply with the Bluetooth standard specification for security during communication using wireless Bluetooth technology. However, in some cases, these security features may not be sufficient, such as due to the settings. Take note of this when using Bluetooth communication.
